Spring 2024 – Cindy Conner had an article published in Spin Off Magazine

January 2024 – Ann Vonnegut had multiple pieces in a show entitled “Tales from the Loom” 1/9/2024-3/28/2024 at the Virginia Quilt Museum

October 2023 – Jeanne Ralston had a blue ribbon at Montpelier Fall Fiber Festival for handwoven non wearable for her double weave placemat.

September 2023 – Cindy Conner entered a hand spun shawl for exhibit at Maryland Sheep and Wool.

June 2023 was a busy month for the guild due to the MidAtlantic Fiber Association semi annual meeting:

Cindy Conner had the unveiling of her new book at the meeting.

Patty Franz ran the towel exchange for the meeting.

Patty, Cindy and Jeanne Ralston had entries in the fashion show.

 

October 2022 – The guild had 3 blue ribbon winners at the Montpelier Fall Fiber Festival

Cindy Conner won blue ribbon for hand spun woven wearable item with her cotton overalls made for her grandchildren.

Susan Berquist had a blue ribbon for hand spun non wearable item with her wool hand bag.

Jeanne Ralston had best in show; blue ribbon woven non wearable;  and received the blue ribbon woven wearable and Gladys Strong Memorial Award

February 2020 – Cindy Conner is giving a talk at the Dye Symposium the second week in March at the North Carolina Arboretum in Asheville, N.C.

She will also be offering two workshops on cotton and flax to linen on June 6th and June 8th at her farm in Richmond.

 

Rising Start Show January 2020 – Ann Vonnegut is showing one of her woven tapestries as part of the Charlottesville Tapestry Group’s exhibit at the Wayne Theater in Waynesburg.  It goes through the end of February.

 

 

Rump Gallery ShowDecember 2020 – Former member Noelani Jones had a one woman show at the Rump Gallery this month.

 

 

 

Best in Show - Montpelier Festival of FiberOctober 2020 – Cindy Conner received Best in Show at the Montpelier Fiber Festival for her dress. She made it from cotton and linen, all of which she had grown, harvested, spun, designed, woven and sewed.  The warp was approximately fifty percent green cotton, with the remaining a combination of various brown and cream cottons.  The weft was linen.

 

Best of Division - Montpelier Fiber FestivalOctober 2020 – Judith Towers received Best in Division at the Montpelier Fiber Festival for her handwoven scarf which she had hand dyed.
